Our customers are in a position to help us help the River Murray by selecting a Heward Estate Mannum Cliffs Wine.

Heward Estate gives a commitment to our River Murray.

Since it's inception in 1998, Heward Estate has allowed in excess of 100 Million litres of water allocation remain in the river for environmental flow.   While it would have been profitable to do so, we have never leased this water to other irrigators, instead allowing it to remain in our river system. We irrigate with pressure compensating drippers, which allows us to very efficiently irrigate our vines.

From July 2008 we intend taking this one step further.   At the end of each financial year, we will provide to an environmental project, a minimum of one kilolitre of water for every case of Heward Estate wine sold during that period.

We will record details of where the water was allocated and the benefits that the water has made on our web site.   We encourage our customers to email us and nominate projects, which would benefit from the water we will provide.
